Daily News - Digital Edition App Reviews

This is a well made newspaper application that caters to both subscribers and non-subscribers. This rating will mostly be based on that of someone who doesnt subscribe to the paper. The Daily News works well for non subscribers in that there is a news section where you can browse and read from 25 to 30 of the latest stories involving top news, gossip, and daily headline crime articles. These articles are presented in a high quality format that are easy to read as well as share. The app also provides numerous galleries to view ranging from supermodel shots to in memory of tributes. One feature I would like added for this section is the ability to save images to your own camera roll. The app of course has the main newspaper library section where you can subscribe, purchase issues and manage your collection. The app also has a customer support section for those who are having trouble or want to provide feedback.

Your app crashes every 10 seconds. Its garbage.

Not sure why this app crashes every time I open and try to read news, so frustrating. Eventually Deleted.

It never works ... Complete waste of money ... Very frustrating!

this app constantly crashes and is a piece of crap, havent used it in months and im on the west coast so this is the easiest way for me to stay connected. Advertisers, this customer is DONE.

I loved it before! Now it constantly crashes after 3 seconds of use. If you look at the reviews, its the main issue. Why do they refuse to do a fix!!!

Great app....when it isnt crashing. I have had to delete and re install the app numerous times. No update nothing. Its a shame. Get it together daily news

The Daily News App is a great App that allows you to read the paper. It is easy to navigate when reading the digital edition. I like its simplistic style. Since yi have been using this new app it is terrific. You can read the Post on the Tablet version or on the Print version of the paper. The paper is there every morning and I have not experience any delays in downloading the paper. Terrific App.

I feel bad writing bad reviews but its pretty irresponsible that this app keeps crashing and shutting down. I literally cant read my horoscope without the app shutting down. I dont care if its the free version. Im never subscribing to a company that can care less about their digital readers. The Post app works fine.

I am very dissatisfied with this app and the support around it for 13.99 a month it stinks

This app crashes every single time I open it up. I Athen have to reopen, read a few articles, and watch it crash again. I guess the cost cutting at the News that included laying off Hall of Fame sportswriter Bill Madden also included laying off competent tech people. Instead we get a racist fraud of a hack writer like Shaun King and Jr HS quality tech support that couldnt figure out a game of Pong.

Even with this new update it still crashes...horrible

Its 2016, why cant they get it right? Crash City! Both APPs continuously crash. Disappointing as I did enjoy this paper.

You can read the whole paper the way its designed, which is the best way to make newspaper apps work. Thats the "classic" version. The other version offers ugly typefaces riddled with spelling and other mechanical errors, the worst elements of a poorly designed news website. You get the best of New York life with great human interest stories, sports, columns, pictures, true crime, and the news of the day. Well worth the price. But I deeply regret the News decision to end almost all of their arts, TV, and movie reviews. Its a vital part of New York and any daily newspaper, and the New York Daily News now has an empty hole in the middle of the paper.

I cant stand it anymore! How does Apple allow this junk to remain in the app store. Wish I could give it -500 stars. Pull this junk off and spare your readers the aggravation if you wont address the issues.

At least the iPad version is s significant improvement. The iPhone version still crashes. The one thing I would like to see on the iPad version is the ability to email articles.

The Daily News content is what I grew up with over 50 years ago - great local news & of course biased NY Sports coverage. Why daily comics but NO Sunday comics section is still a mystery. What most annoying is almost every morning the app displays the buy iTunes subscription window when Ive had a valid direct NY Daily News digital subscription login for 4 years. No matter what internet connection (high speed 75mbps download) or on iPad Pro 9.7" model (previously iPad 2) it takes multiple quits & launches to get paper download and often doesnt download until later in the day. Support hadnt corrected issue & just about given up on this...

App works when it wants to. Just about every morning, the app will not let me download the paper. Im forced to wait until late afternoon to download it. Even then sometimes the paper still wont download. And it keeps getting worse and worse. Just about ready to cancel my subscription.
